Sanford C. Scheman, M.D., MBA

Dr. Scheman founded the practice in 1970, opening offices in Smithtown and Commack. Dr. Scheman is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Scheman is a graduate of Brooklyn College and Chicago Medical School. He completed his 2 years of general surgery residency at Kings County Hospital. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Brooklyn Veterans Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Scheman received an MBA from C.W. Post in 1998.

Dr. Scheman has held the offices of Chief of Orthopedics and President of the Medical Staff at St. Catherine’s of Siena Medical Center (formally St. John’s Hospital). He is a member of the AMA and the Suffolk County Medical Society – MSSNY. He is a founding member of the National Osteoporosis Institute.
