Nathaniel L. Tindel, M.D.

Dr. Tindel joined the practice in 1996. Dr. Tindel is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He attended Princeton University as an undergraduate, medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and his orthopedic residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.

Dr. Tindel then completed a 2 year fellowship specializing in spine and scoliosis surgery at the University of Miami. He presently divides his time between Smithtown and Manhattan, where he is the director at the New York Center for Spinal Disorders. He is on staff is Lenox Hill Hospital and is the Chief of Spinal Surgery at Jacobi Medical Center.

Dr. Tindel’s expertise is in treating neck and back problems. He has received numerous awards and accolades and has been an instructor and lecturer at multiple meetings. He has published many articles and book chapters for the medical community. He is author of the newly published book; I’ve Got Your Back: The Truth About Back Surgery, Straight From a Spine Surgeon, which is available at your local bookstore.

Dr. Tindel has received the New York Magazine’s Top Doctor Award in 2002, Castle Connolly’s Top 100 Minimally Invasive Surgeons in 2002, and Castle Connolly’s New York Metro Area Top Doctor Award in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. He is a member of the American Spinal Injury Association, the Eastern Orthopedic Association, the Cervical Spine Research Society, the New York Society for Orthopedic Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society.
